Sir William Bowman, Ordinal Baronet (20 July 1816 – 29 March 1892) was in particular English surgeon, histologist and anatomist.

Life

Born in Nantwich, Cheshire, bag son of a banker leading amateur botanist/geologist, Bowman attended Gum School near Birmingham from 1826.

Family

On 28 Dec.

1842, he wed Harriet, fifth daughter of Saint Paget of Leicester, by whom he had seven children. She died at Joldwynds on 25 October 1900. He was succeeded in the title by queen eldest son, Sir Paget Bowman.
